We are pleased to announce the transition of ATP Regional Account Manager in Southern Manitoba from Jan Cote to Ben Sherk. Over the last couple of months, Jan and Ben have been working closely to ensure a smooth transition for both retail and farm customers. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Ben and thank Jan for his contributions to the ATP team.

Ben grew up in Rosetown, SK, and developed a strong connection to agriculture at a young age. Between the exposures to the family farm near Stranraer, SK, steering the combine with his uncle, and his firsthand experience watching his dad enjoy his agricultural career, Ben was set on agriculture. After college, Ben obtained his Bachelor of Sciences in Agribusiness from the University of Manitoba in 2017.
During his university years, Ben gained diverse work experiences by working for Monsanto Canada, Richardson International and Univar Ag Distribution. Following graduation, Ben worked for Univar Solutions, NexusBioAg where he held various roles; Supply Planner and Business Manager in Winnipeg and Senior Account Executive in NW Saskatchewan.
In Ben’s spare time he enjoys every aspect of the outdoors from the camping or fishing trip, to the research of gear required for the adventure. When Ben isn’t at the lake or in the bush, you’ll find him outside doing yard work or spending time with his family. Ben resides in New Bothwell with his wife, Deidre, and four-month-old daughter, Kimberlee.
Ben is excited to support the retailers, independent agronomists, and growers in Southern Manitoba to help them grow and thrive!
With Ben’s announcement, comes Jan Cote’s retirement from ATP.
The team at ATP would like to thank Jan for his tremendous work in servicing the retail and grower customers in Southern Manitoba. Jan’s 30 plus years in ag retail, grain marketing, marketing and sales were all assets that made the ATP team stronger. Jan was a true team player – and fostered strong relationships with his accounts, academics, ag extension and the team at ATP. Jan’s work ethic was second to none. We will miss Jan and the beef jerky, and treats (specifically the fudge and muffins) that he routinely dropped off.
We extend our gratitude to Jan for his remarkable 30 plus year journey in the agricultural industry, and specifically for his role in building the ATP Nutrition business in Manitoba.
As Jan embarks on this new chapter of his life, he would like to express his appreciation to the many individuals he has had the privilege of working with and building relationships. Please allow us to share a few words from Jan:
“It’s been a real pleasure learning and working with Southern Manitoba retail agronomists. I have learned a lot in the past 5 years and was well supported by ATP’s technical agronomists, production, logistics and marketing. Over the next few years, my primary learning focus will be immersing myself in ReGen Ag to become well-read in the subject. My personal goals are to improve my golf game and make sure my kayak sees the water twice a week. Take care!”
